Microsoft stops distribution of accounting package, with Mamut taking on 10,000 of their customers
Microsoft has confirmed as of 6 November it will cease distributions and
sales of its accounting package.
Microsoft Office Accounting, which has approximately 10,000 customers in the
UK, has arranged for users to receive five years support and five years extended
support from financial software company Mamut.
It was launched, after
much fanfare in the US, in 2006 and then later into the UK, and included the
setup of an accountants
network.
All customer support in the UK will transfer to Mamut effective immediately.
Mamut is offering MOA customers, based in the UK, a free upgrade to Mamut
Business Software.
Eilert Hanoa, Mamut CEO, said: “We are proud of our work with Microsoft
across Europe, and look forward to offering new benefits to users of Microsoft
Office Accounting in the UK.”
