Administrators cut jobs at Borders HQ
MCR makes cut backs at book chain's head office
Administrators from MCR has made 36 people at book retailer Borders
redundant.
The redundancies are all in the book chain’s London head office and not at
its stores.
Administrator Phil Duffy, partner at MCR, said: “We are now pursuing parallel
administration strategies – continuing to seek a purchaser for all or some of
the company’s stores whilst conducting store closing down sales.”
“Considerable interest has been expressed either in the business and/or
certain stores and this interest is actively being pursued by MCR.” No further
details are available at this time” he added.
MCR announced closing down sales at all of Borders 45 retail outlets.
