Lord Myners sticks up for current non-dom rules
Non-dom rules are expected to stay in place for the future, said City
minister Lord Myners.
Responding to questions from Labour and the Lib Dems about removing the
rules, Lord Myners said the concept of non-domicile was beneficial to the UK
economy, reported
Channel
4 News.
Labour former treasury minister Lord Barnett called for the rule to be
abolished all together and leave residence as key in paying full tax.
Lib Dem Treasury spokesman Lord Oakeshott said that those who had lived in
the UK for more than seven years should pay full UK tax.
