A DIRECTOR of Sunderland firm Otax faces jail after being convicted of an offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Kishor Doshi, of Dunelm South, Sunderland, admitted he had told a client that the police had commanded him to hand over the client’s accounts, reported the Sunderland Echo.
The order was part of a Northumbria Police investigation.
Doshi had claimed that he didn’t know the order was part of a criminal investigation, but part of a civil enquiry by HM Revenue & Customs.
Sentencing was adjourned until next month.
