CIMA disciplinary turning into May-gate as TS desk receives Deep Throat style messages
TS HAS BEEN KNOWN to take an interest in the gossipy nature of the accountancy profession and we welcome ear-whispering of any kind.
However, it came as a surprise when opening up emails this morning to have received a Deep Throat message regarding the recent Margaret May CIMA disciplinary case.
It is claimed “the hearing is controlled by CIMA” with everyone present apart from May and her barrister being paid by the institute.
It’s been a bit of a messy business all round with mudslinging and dirty-washing airing on both sides. There have even been unconfirmed rumours that the two day disciplinary is creeping towards the £70,000 mark, with more days on the horizon.
During the next round of the public hearing on 28 June we’ll be sure to attend with bells on, but we haven’t yet figured out where the nearest car park is!
