Tender process for £250k PwC deal questioned by Birmgham City Council's chief

BIRMINGHAM’S council inquiry has opened into the circumstances surrounding a £250,000 contract awarded to PwC without a tender process.

Stephen Hughes, Birmingham City Council chief executive, has opened an inquiry into a deal awarded to PwC for a programme of behavioural change workshops with 100 local authority managers, reported the Birmingham Post.

Hughes said that a tender failed to occur due to extremely tight deadlines placed upon the commissioning officers.
