PARTY POLITICAL LINES are likely to be drawn over how the wealthy are taxed.
Business secretary Vince Cable wants the possibility of a land tax to be explored, potentially using properties worth more than £1m as a starting point for a levy, reported The Times.
The Tories are opposed to the idea. Chancellor George Osborne has, however, declared that the wealthy tax dodgers are being targeted. The recent Swiss tax deal is expected to recoup several billion pounds for the Treasury.
