HMRC has set up a "dynamic response team" to raid suspect East London small businesses
TAX INSPECTORS plan to raid small businesses located near the site of the 2012 Olympics to check they are not exploiting migrant workers.
The Daily Telegraph has reported HMRC believes there to be “significant risks” that local employers could be tempted to cut corners around staff pay and tax, such as VAT on merchandise.
The taxman has created a new “dynamic response team” will conduct “unannounced street sweeps” of Stratford businesses.
“The team will be looking very closely at Olympic related businesses during the Olympic period to ensure that workers are not taken advantage of,” HMRC said.
