    Redknapp’s defence set to open in tax evasion trial

    Harry Redknapp denied dodging taxes by telling police: “I write like a two-year-old and I can't spell"

    BARRISTERS defending Harry Redknapp and Milan Mandaric in their tax evasion trial are expected to open their cases at Southwark Crown Court today.

    Redknapp and Mandaric deny charges of cheating the public revenue when Redknapp was manager of Portsmouth FC.

    The trial will resume after the Tottenham Hotspur claimed that he had lost millions through disastrous business decisions and denied dodging taxes by telling police: “I am not going to fiddle taxes, I pay my accountant a fortune to look after me,” the BBC reported.

    “I am completely and utterly disorganised. I write like a two-year-old and I can’t spell.”
