Former HSBC chief international economist and Standard Life Investments CEO Keith Skeoch takes FRC board role
STANDARD LIFE’S chief executive Keith Skeoch has taken a board appointment at the Financial Reporting Council.
Skeoch (pictured) has been CEO of Standard Life Investments since 2004 having joined the business in 1999 as chief investment officer and has been a member of its board since 2006.
Prior to that he was at HSBC Securities where he spent nearly 20 years in roles such as managing director of international equities, director of economics and strategy and chief international economist. He started out his career at the government economic service.
Skeoch currently sits on the FRC Advisory panel looking at how lessons should be learned from the financial crisis. He has held several industry roles including chairman of the ABI Investment Committee, which he stepped down from in 2010, the Chancellor’s working group on rights issues and the Financial Services Authority senior practitioner panel.
“Keith brings to the FRC great knowledge of the investment industry, and an experienced perspective on codes and standards that will be of immense benefit to the board,” said FRC chairman Baroness Hogg.
