TaxAssist steps up Canada push
TaxAssist Accountants begins its camapaign to win up to 60 franchisees in the Toronto area in the next five years
A BIG PUSH to recruit member firms in Canada has been launched by accounting franchise specialists TaxAssist Accountants.
The first push has been made in Greater Toronto, where its regional head Rina Mancini is setting a target of building a team of up to 60 franchisees in the next five years.
“I’ve had a great reaction, both from would-be franchisees looking to invest in this business model, which has proven to be successful in the UK and Ireland and also from the Canadian small business community, who see us as filling a huge gap in tax and accounting services for SME business owners,” said Mancini.
The network will look to win clients from what Mancini describes as the area’s “burgeoning” entrepreneurial community.
“There are seasonal Canadian tax preparation companies who look after personal tax returns, but no other accounting and tax preparation business specialises solely in the small business market and provides year-round accounting, tax preparation and advisory services, through professionally appointed storefront locations.”
Mancini is now holding ‘discovery days’ for people who want to find out more about becoming a TaxAssist Accountants franchisee.
“Not all TaxAssist Accountants franchisees are accountants, but they will all have certified professional accountants on their staff,” said Rina. “We’re speaking to people who want to run their own business, within the supportive environment of a tried and tested network model.”
It has been a busy few weeks for TaxAssist. Its management and a large proportion of its franchisees took the unprecedented step of teaming up to buy out the franchise from its original owners.
