Employee engagement demand prompts Deloitte acquisition

Deloitte has absorbed Stitch Communications to boost its Global Employer Services offering amid heightened client demands for employee engagement.

Good employee engagement and communications, especially among rapidly expanding companies, can make a critical difference to corporate success.

“Many businesses communicate adequately,” said Mitul Shah, partner and reward leader at Deloitte, by email. “But continuing that conversation and tailoring that message is what makes many businesses extremely successful in how they engage employees.”

Bristol-based Stitch, who currently have live projects with existing clients Vodafone, HSBC and Sage, begin work under Deloitte’s Global Employer Services offering this week.

With Stitch on board, Deloitte will be able to offer bespoke, high quality communications, with Shah highlighting the firm’s creativity as a key factor.

“Stitch brings two worlds together by combining their strong creative roots with our understanding and knowledge of the reward and benefit space and this makes them unique in the marketplace,” said Shah. “On a very practical level, they can take just about anything that you might consider complicated and transform it into a compelling narrative that provides an exciting visual experience for employees.”

“Quality comms ensures employees are companies’ greatest ambassadors”

While Shah admitted that employee engagement can become “more challenging and resource-heavy” as businesses expand to other geographies, he nevertheless believes a good internal communication strategy can help meet business objectives.

Shah said: “Tailoring messaging and being committed to engaging employees across different geographies and demographics has to be a priority for those who want to push engagement.

“Employees are at the core of every business, and by keeping those employees happy and engaged through quality communications, businesses can ensure that their employees are also their greatest ambassadors,” he said.
