iplicit unveils BPO tool for midmarket accountants at DAS 2025

At this year’s Digital Accountancy Show in London, cloud software provider iplicit launched a new tool designed to help accountancy firms scale their business process outsourcing (BPO) services for midmarket clients.

At the sidelines of the event, Accountancy Age spoke with the iplicit team about the new “Client Manager” functionality — a central administration platform allowing firms to manage multiple clients more efficiently within iplicit’s accounting system.

According to the company, the product is aimed at supporting accountants who often lose growing SME clients when their financial operations begin to demand more complex systems.

“Accountancy practices do great outsourcing work for SMEs when they’re small or just starting out, only to risk losing their best clients as they grow,” said Matt Lewns, Partner Manager for iplicit’s accountancy channel.

The challenge, he explained, is that as clients grow, the volume of transactional work tends to increase. Many firms then opt to internalise their finance operations due to perceived cost-efficiencies — particularly when existing systems lack automation and require juggling multiple logins and environments.

The newly launched Client Manager aims to address that issue by offering partners single sign-on access to all of their clients’ iplicit environments, as well as the ability to bulk-manage permissions and monitor usage across accounts.

Among its key features:

  • Bulk onboarding and offboarding of users across clients
  • Ability to group clients by variables such as industry, geography, or engagement lead
  • Sandbox replication for testing new functionality without compromising live data
  • Centralised visibility into client data usage and performance metrics

Paul Sparkes, Chief Product Officer at iplicit, said: “Client Manager is a vital part of our product for accountancy practices looking to offer BPO services to their midmarket client base. Many of the UK’s most progressive firms have already identified iplicit as the leading system of choice for midmarket organisations.”

The launch follows growing interest among UK accountancy firms in extending their outsourcing capabilities beyond startups and small businesses — an area historically underserved due to system limitations.

The tool will also benefit implementation partners and resellers over time, adding another layer of configurability to their midmarket offering.
