BDO to relocate Edinburgh team to larger offices
BDO is relocating its Edinburgh staff to 30 Semple Street after signing a 10-year lease on 8,176 sq ft of space in the new Grade A development.
The firm will move in the autumn from its current Haymarket Terrace offices to the environmentally certified building, which sits close to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The development, led by Corran Properties for CBRE Investment Management, is among the first in Scotland to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating, a 5-star NABERS target, and a Platinum Airscore.
Martin Gill, regional managing partner at BDO in Scotland, said: “BDO is firmly committed to the Scottish market and our investment in new offices is a statement of intent for our business and our belief in the people and businesses based here.
“We’ve taken more space than we have currently to give us the opportunity to continue to expand our depth and breadth of services.
“With its exceptional design and sustainability credentials, this move will provide the foundations for us to continue investing in Scotland.”
BDO will join fellow tenants Hymans Robertson and Red Rock Power at the 57,000 sq ft site.
Zoe Gray, director of CBRE Investment Management, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome BDO to 30 Semple Street, joining Hymans Robertson and Red Rock Power as the first occupiers of our new flagship office development.”
The move comes as part of a broader refresh of BDO’s national property portfolio across its 18 UK locations. The firm currently employs over 200 people in Scotland and has made similar long-term office investments in Glasgow, Manchester, Guildford, Nottingham, and Ipswich, alongside major refits in Birmingham, Bristol and Southampton.
BDO also plans to relocate to a new 220,000 sq ft London headquarters in 2027.
