Gerald Edelman appoints new UK audit partner
Gerald Edelman has appointed Tom Harris as its new audit partner, expanding the leadership team as the firm continues to grow and diversify its client services.
Harris joins from Deloitte, bringing 25 years of professional experience across audit and advisory services, and expertise spanning listed companies, private clients, and start-ups.
Harris has led advisory initiatives in IPO readiness, controls assurance, and HFI reporting, providing him with broad exposure to complex corporate environments. His sector experience includes retail, manufacturing, property, telecoms, media, and technology, reflecting the firm’s focus on serving a diverse portfolio of clients.
In addition to his technical audit expertise, Harris has held leadership roles designed to enhance audit quality and operational efficiency, an area that remains a key focus for accountancy firms navigating increasingly complex regulatory and business landscapes.
Speaking about his appointment, Harris highlighted the opportunity to support client growth and transformation through high-quality audit and assurance services. He emphasised the importance of collaboration across the partnership to deliver consistent and reliable insights to clients, a priority in an environment where transparency and accuracy are under constant scrutiny.
Gerald Edelman, which now has a total of 22 partners, said Harris’s addition strengthens its audit practice and reinforces its commitment to quality and entrepreneurial thinking.
CEO Carl Lundberg welcomed Harris to the partnership, noting that his expertise and professional values align with the firm’s mission to provide practical, strategic solutions and to cultivate a culture of collaboration.
Lundberg added that Harris’s experience would play a central role in shaping the future of the firm, supporting both client outcomes and the development of the wider team.
The appointment also reflects a broader trend in UK accountancy firms to attract senior talent with international experience and technical breadth, particularly as clients demand integrated audit and advisory services that extend beyond traditional compliance.
With this hire, Gerald Edelman signals its intention to strengthen its presence across multiple sectors while maintaining a focus on high-quality, partner-led service.
